Straight hair without a straightener?

my hair is curly. i try to blow dry and brush it to make it straight and it sort of works but then it poofs up. i used to never do anything to it, not even brush it. but i just got a really short hair cut so if i don't straighten it it looks like an afro. how can i get my hair to go straight and down with out a straightener?

use a round brush and while you are drying your hair pull your hair down with the hairbrush with the hairdryer close to it-thats how they do it at the hair dressers!

a nice hot flat iron....with an ironing board!

Seriously though, my SD has very curly hair and hates it. Enjoy the curls you have! Some gals pay primo dollars for what you naturally have!

You can get a hair-straightening solution just like a perm solution from the local market. Just like a perm, you will have to reapply every 3-6 months and it costs about the same.

oh I feel your pain, I have very thick curly hair.

Unfortunately you can't unless you want to spend hours with a brush and hairdryer.

I would invest in a straightner if I was you

If you can find a product to help with frizz and straighten out your hair and then use a small round brush. i like to use Aveda Hang Staight. you use just a little bit in damp hair and blow it out on a low setting. it takes a little longer but it works longer. then for curly i like the Be Curly from Aveda and i don't even use a dryer and it does its own thing. good luck!

All you need is a round brush, a hair dryer and hair straightening gel. Apply the hair straightening gel on your hair and comb your hair. Take the round brush and pull the hair straight down from the root and at the same time blow the hair. This will ensure hair straightening. Within 10 to 15 minutes you will have straight hair.

since your hair is curly there is nothing you can do about it, not unless you spend much money to have it straighten.

Straight hair without a straightener?

totally understand - I am mounting a campaign to bring back the shag style perm for gents and its day four and I am loosing heart, stay on here and keep anking imaginative questions that should help - well more than I have anyway

I heard about this Japanese hair straightening system thing. You can get it at She Salon in Crouch End, North London, if you know where that is.

I don't really know why the Japanese would have come up with that though, nearly all oriental people have poker straight hair.

go and get it permanently straightened - Its fantastic and you don't even have to manage it!! you just wash and dry no need to even brush - cos it'll end up dead straight. Best place to go = Chinese Hairdressers! Awesome.

There is no way in this world without hair straighners (ghd's) they are a god send!

I straighten my hair all the time professionally and myself. Why are you afraid to straighten it? Cost? What you should do is go to asian salons. They charge $120. After you see how they do it you can buy a box of straightener on ebay. Or contact me and I will sell you a box. Its by Matrix. Cost is $30 good for 2 whole head, or 4 touch ups.

I had mine chemically straightened using "Rusk" which really works without leaving your hair dry, after around 6 months the roots come through curly but it's easy to striaghten them by using a round brush to get close to the roots and pull them straight whilst blow drying.

I don't know what they're called but theres also something that is similar to a straightner, it's a brush that looks like a pair of straightners that you use when blow drying to pull the hair straight. They don't work as well as using the round brush though.

one word of advice i wouldnt get hooked on hair straigteners as they will ruin ur curls froever and ur hair and curls will jus turn into a big bush ! i would make wot u can do with ur natural hair:) good luck sorry bout my spelling

Straight hair without a straightener?

unfortunately, as ur hair is curly u do need 2 use starightners!but heres the thing - use a shampoo %26amp; conditioner like andrew collinge smooth %26amp; sleek, toweldry then use a product such as Loreal Studio Line Hot Straight (to help protect as well as straighten!), blowdry using the concentrater in small sections wiv a round brush then go over wiv straightners finish with a bit of serum or hairspray %26amp; remember, humidity will make ur hair curl so mayb a short style is no good?

Straight hair without a straightener?

Do a straightning. (you must go to a hair dresser to do this) And when you blow dry your hair add some anti-frizz serum (schwarzkopf and Inne'(l'oreal produce this) have very good ones! or fixing spray!

Hope it helps!
