Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

I'm considering getting a straightener, and my mom is delaying on buying one with me because she doesn't want to get it yet. Meanwhile, I've been wanting one for about a year or two now, and I've realized that I want to make my hair pin-straight. I have naturally straight hair, but it tends to poof out in some places. Would a straightener allow me to tame those unruly ends?

Also, would it work for me? I'd like to have my hair really straight and try it out.

Thanks. :)

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

Yea, it'll work. My hair is naturally straight too, but I like it pink straight, or flipped out sorta. You can do a lot with a straightener, not just straighten it. Tell your mom that, and you don't need to get a CHI one for like $150, I have a Revlon one, I think it's like Revlon Stylix or something like that. It's red and white, it was $20 or somewhere around there, and it works really good.

Ha thanks, and I meant pin straight, not pink. :) Report It

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

We don't want no poofs around here

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

If your hair is mostly straight it will definitely work on your trouble spots.

And if your mom won't buy it, save your money and buy it yourself =]

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

yes yes and yes you might want to use some products espesial for getting stik strait hair just in case good luck!!

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

yes. i have straight hair and i have a CHI straitener. it just makes it straighter, sleeker, and healthier looking.

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

ofcourse it will,, n it will tame your poofy probalems, i recomend the andrew colinge ones, they are excelent i have them myself!

xxx

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

Yes the straightner will help with the poof depending on what kind you get. Also a anti-poof product will help if you are wanting it totally straight. I have naturally straight hair and i use a straightner and i do think you could work it....The style not the straightner.

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

hair grows back. go buy a straightener and go to town with it lol. i use one. you should get this stuff called by l'oreal called "texture" hot style and straight spray. you spray it on your hair and then use the straightener. it smells good and it looks great =D no frizzies

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

Yes it will work but remember to use a heat defence spray to help protect ur hair from damage then when ur finish ur a tiny bit of hair serum on ur ends

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

yeah, it also gets rid of frizz. try buying a conair if you want somthing cheap but worth it. chi is the best, but since your hair is already straight it is uneccesary

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

Of course you can, it will make your hair more smooth and the poofy places will just disappear.

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

I think it would. I have very thick, curly, poofy, fine hair, and it does wonders to my hair! Try to find a straightener with gold plates and multiple heat settings, since different types of hair handle different temperatures better. Read the directions! And, if you plan to straighten your hair, make sure to use a heat protectant cream/spray and deep condition it with Suave Hot Oil once a week. I also like a straightening iron to curl my hair ends out or under, just twist your wrist!

Can you use a flat-iron/straightener on straight hair?

put a small amount of silk therapy on your hair in the "poofy" areas and run it through the flat iron. no harm, and bone straight

I have relaxed hair, straight hair, and i want curly hair....?

So i have a relaxer in my hair but i want to curl it without using a curling iron(damages), or curlers(makes my hair frizzy when i comb it and it doesn't last too long)....so what product should i use. I tried tress tranzitions but it only works when your hair is little bit curly. Well most people with relaxers after you wash it, it gets wavvy, but my hair is just straight!

I have relaxed hair, straight hair, and i want curly hair....?

this stuff callefd Curlz Rock

its either by Bedhead or Catwalk

I have relaxed hair, straight hair, and i want curly hair....?

I have curly hair... its really not that great. Of course you always want what you don't have. I suggest you try scrunching your hair. Some ppl can't though. My sis's hair is complete opposite, she has straight hair and it won't curl for anything!

I have relaxed hair, straight hair, and i want curly hair....?

Well, you could always go to meijer where they sell this product called frizz. it makes your hair curly and bouncy... not frizzy like it says on the bottle. it stays in for about 2 weeks. if u use it every 2 weeks u'll be on ur way to have permatnely curly hair. but the curls go away with a straightner.

Curly hair to straight hair...?

if you have really curly hair and you get it relaxed at a hair salon so it's straight is it permanent? if not, how long does it last? and when it wears off will your hair be just as curly, more curly, or not as curly???

Curly hair to straight hair...?

I'd just use a flat iron. I did that and not only d it fry my hair, but It just kind of lifelessly laid there. I couldnt curl it or anything!!! But if you do it, just make sure you want ONLY straight hair. Good luck!

Curly hair to straight hair...?

it could last up to a few months, it turns wavy after awhile and back to normal eventually but that's long long after you get it relaxed

Curly hair to straight hair...?

depends on how long they kept it on or how strong the perm is

my hair is exactly the same the 3 perms only lasted 2 days, each time, because it wasn't a hard perm and wasn't on for long

all the other perms I've gotten before, just took a bit of the frizz out, but my hair stayed VERY curly when wet/damp... i like that

Curly hair to straight hair...?

it lasts for a few months depending on the way you take care of your hair... i had my hair relaxed february of year 2006 before i graduated in college and still, my hair is straighter than ever with lots of conditioner and avoiding ponytails..

Curly hair to straight hair...?

one year ago i straighten my hair, my hair was brown, from there it went to really light brown, dry and frizzy, it really damage my hair, it was straight for one month then it went to wavy, and now after 12 month of treatments, day after day is wavy frizzy and almost blond, by using treatments is not as dry as it was before, if you think of straighting your hair, don't do it! but if you do, think twice and buy the best treatments.

Curly hair to straight hair...?

No it's not permanent it lasts about as long as a perm does (4-5 months) or maybe longer.

Afro wigs vs. Straight hair wig?

Why is that when someone that's non-black wear an afro wig is a joke or a gag, but when a black person wears a straight hair wig they're all "serious" and ****?

Afro wigs vs. Straight hair wig?

It's ridiculous, ain't it? It's cause for so many years, they have tried to have to have straight hair, and think a wig is the convincing answer. Maybe so many tight weaves and chemical relaxers have made their hair start falling out, who knows? Even so, they COULD use a more natural looking wig texture besides straight.

Best product for long thin straight hair that's not damaged?

I have long thin straight hair and I don't want to use a hairspray because I hate how my hair feels with that in. I don't my gel and like pomade. I need something that will keep my hair looking like I towel-dried the sides because it looks really shaggy/sexy that way. What would you use for long thing straight hair thats almost at my shoulders.. Also how much gel or pomade would you use? I need specific names of products, I also like something that smells nice.

scrunching my hair only makes it stringy and more straight!

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

I recomend u use Sunsilk Anti-Flat!! my mom has this same problem!! she puts in on after taking a shower and then when it dries, she curls it and it makes perfect curls!! or u can just leave it and not curl it but it will still make it unflat!! won't make curls but won't make it really flat!!

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

then use hair spray or put it up in a bun that with gel all over your hair then leave it over night and when you take it out it'll be pretty!

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

After you take a shower put your hair in a bun on top or your head, put some gel in it and sleep with it over night. In the morning use hair spray, blow dry, then spray again.

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

i have the exact same kind of hair.. but this is what i do when i want my hair to be curly/wavy

wash your hair and then put in some kind of mousse or gel.

then blowdry/airdry until it is damp

then put it into braids... more or less depending on how wavy you want it

then blowdry your hair until it is COMPLETELY dry, i mean like bone dry.. and then spritz with some hairspray.

then take the braids out, shake out your hair a little bit, and spray with some more hairspray.

it won't be perfect, but that's all i can do with my hair.

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

Get layers. That way when you try to curl it, it isn't all curling at one length; it will curl all over (for lack of a better way to put it). Good luck!

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

what size is the curling iron ur using? i would suggest using a 1 1/2 inch barrel, and taking large sections of hair. this should give you a soft bouncy curl.........before you blowdry, use a spray in hair thickener, (kenra works best), blow dry your hair then use the iron.....it should work great....also kenra extra hold hair spray after ur done works wonders, holds without that helmet hair feeling.

I have stick straight hair and i can't curl it w/o making it look like the victorian times!! help!?

use rollers every night and put grease on it every other night cause my hair is not the curliest but it works for me!!!

Im using john friedas steps 1-5 and decent hair straightners. my hair is shoulder lengh, quite thick and i have got layerswhich wont go straight. Anyone help please? Id love to know what products all you girls use, please tell me!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I also have layers but GHD straighteners work fine....however it will only go straight if you straighen the top layer then the bottom layer, otherwise your bottom layer will flick out. Hope that helps :-D

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Quality CERAMIC/PORCELAIN Flat Irons for Hair.

Along with hair straighteners for wavy-haired people.

Oil and Protein conditioners for hair.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Its called rebonding and you just need to go pay money for it to be done at the hair salon...

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

GHD straightners

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

all i know is that girls who are naturally curly and straightened out their hair....gorgeous!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

try a good straightening iron

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Dont, wavy or curly hair is more sexy.

But if you must, some girls iron their hair (no joke) or they actually use a hair straightener, a good one costs around $80

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

my hair is naturally straight. but i straighten it sometimes

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I don't know anything about products, but I do know that there are straightening irons you can buy. I got one at Family Dollar for $10. Works okay, but not great. My hair stylist has one that works much better. I'm sure hers is way more expensive. I guess it's one of those things that you get what you pay for.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I knew a woman who grew up during the late 60s and early 70s, when straight hair was very popular. Her family didn't have a lot of money, so she ironed her hair with a clothes iron. No kidding!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Hi. I had enough with those products. Thus, now I finally discovered the Japanese Thermal Hair Straightening system and I have it on my layered hair and I look great. It is such a relief from the daily frizzball nightmare.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Depending on what type of hair you have there are several options. You really need a good conditioner and a good ceramic flat iron. There are a lot of products you can use to aid the straightening process. One real good one is Rusk Thermal STR8. You spray this on before you use the flat iron.

You can also try using this before you blow dry your hair using a huge round brush. It is pretty multifunctional.

Good luck, I know it is frustrating.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I have very natural curly hair for years and years tryed everything to straighten it my friend done it with straightening irons it lasted a night, now i don't fight it just work with the curls.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Please do not straighten your hair. Wavy/curly hair is cute. Just add a pea size amount of gloss to some strong hold gel and smooth through your hair. Let it air dry or use a diffuser. The more your straighten it, it will look like a haystack!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

my neice has curly hair and irons her hair with the clothes iron, mad!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

It depends on your shampoo as well, I use tresemme, then i put a frizz formula serum on my hair, while still wet, it's by Joshua Galvin and it's in a dark red pump bottle it lasts ages and costs about 鎷?/roughly $5 if u are in usa

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

make sure u wash your hair everyday, and then hotoil every week or every other week, u can just buy your own hot oil creme and apply yourself at home, then just use a hair permer or its sometimes called hair iron...

hair iron really works.... doesnt need ot be an expensive iron though......

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

uuuuuuuummmm my hair is naturally straight but my friend's isnt but she just uses a straightener. Well take a shower and buy aussie the 1 were it has a lil bottle and then use all of that and then blow dry it and it should be pretty straight hope it wasnt confusing well to confusing

email me at: fabulas_me_babygurl@yahoo.com and caitlin_storey_1991@hotmail.com its my cousin's mine dont work)

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

GHD straighners, expensive but well worth it....you will need a protection oil spray to go with them.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

They either have naturally straight hair or they do what I do...use one of those conair straightening irons. I have very wavy hair, and that thing really works. Just dampen your hair, then start up by ur scalp and move slowly down towards the bottom. That's all

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

try to get a hair relaxer that should help it helped me.

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

there is a straightner on the market called ionic straightner works like a dream can have it done at a salon is a bit costy but worth it

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Oh, I know what you mean! I have naturally curly hair and I've always wanted it to be straight... Finally, after 17 years, I gave up ;) Way too much work! And every time I straighten it, it always curls back. However, my hair dresser successfully does it! She uses a Chi flat iron (these overly expensive irons cost about 200$ - but they're the key to a very straight look, I guess) she also uses Redken Smooth Down HEAT GLIDE and ends with Redken 09 WORKFORCE hairspray... Well, this works!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

Go to a salon... Rebond or straight...

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

you need to get a good straighterner i have very thick hair and its curly underneath and wavyish on the top what you need to do is tie the top up while you do underneath then let it down and striaghten again it helps me...

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

GHD Hair straighteners are the essential. The best 鎷?00 you can spend.

Secondly, just use any good quality shampoo and conditioner for your hair type.

Thirdly, place your hair in sections before straightening. you need to work from the bottom of the hair, and take the straightener to the root. You will need to comb the area prior to straightening and sometimes repeat.

If your hair is dry, spray with a protective spray. GHD do a good one.

Then your hair will be perfectly straight. I used other straighteners before GHDs and they did not work!

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

I had the same problem with my hair, it was very much the same as the way u described yours, but there is one more solution i found a chinese hairdressers that can actually straighten hair properly the whole process takes about 5-6 hours, the cost is about 鎷?60, seems alot but it is well worth it, it also lasts for about 9-10 months and u dont need to use hot combs or any other stuff. so maybe find ur local chinese hair salon...

I want straight hair like all the girls i see, what are they using?

get your self pair of ghd's my hair is major thick and very curly and when using straighten my hair in small sections and it goes poker straight they are god send

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

i have long shiny smooth curls but i recently was looking into permanently straightening my hair. but i also like the wavy look. any suggestions should i get a permanent wave? permanent straight hair? or leave my hair and just get layers to get an even better style? do guys like curls? waves? straight hair better? im just tryin to make a desision. has anyone ever gotten either of these. please help! thanx.

oh and if it helps im a brunette with naturally blonde highlights and bright greenblue eyes with a oval face shape. best answr and best details gets 10 points!!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

If you have natural smooth curly hair that doesn't irritate you, then you should keep it.... other girls would do anything for natural hair like that. You can always straighten it out when you want to, and some say it's easier to get straight hair than the other way around when they wanna style it... especially with the straightners they have out there now...

I have natural curls as well and always wished I had straight hair. But sometimes I like the curly/wavy look if it's styled the right way... but I'd straighten my hair once in a while for that other look. I use the 'chi' straightener, it straightens out the curls pretty nicely...

If you permanently do something to your hair, it's hard to get your natural look back. it's really up to you and what kinda hair you wanna live with coz it's your hair...

Any style works these days, so wavy, curly, or straight is good! that prolly doesn't help you make a decision does it? heheh

But I think you should keep your natural hair... believe it or not, some guys love natural beauty more than being "made-up" ...right?

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

WELL I HAVE WAVY/CURLY HAIR i had layers put in and had it feathered it looks great i straighten it from time to time and look good aswell i wouldnt permanantley do my hair like tht cos it causes a lot of damage

i think the wavy look is really cool

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

Love the wavy look!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

what the hell is wrong with what you were born with? Females should be accused of false advertising always trying to cover up all that ugly with makeup, fake nails, different hair, knowing they look scary as hell in the morning and thinking they are beautiful at night....give me a break.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

Keep your hair the way it is! I used to have curly hair and want straight, but now I would do anything to get those curls back!

Anyway, to permanently straighten or wave your hair can seriously damage your hair, and it won't be pretty! So be thankful for what you have and enjoy your rare, but beautiful curls!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

you should leave your hair that way, there are hair straighteners out there that aren't permanment. try that first in the long run you won't be sorry!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

I have curly hair and I tried having straightened before. I guess the lady that did it did a half-@ss job because I would still have to iron my hair daily. It wasn't worth the time or money. However, I have heard amazing things about Japanese Hair Straightening, but I've heard that it is ridiculously expensive. I think that straight hair is more popular, but I love my curly hair and so does my boyfriend. If I was you, I would try changing the style and getting layers. If you still aren't happy with it after that, then I would try straightening it.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

Just flat iron you hair and if you want wavy hair braid it over night.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

if you get a streightener just remember there is no turning back. just blow dry your hair and use a straightening lotion on it..if I could go back in time I would have not gotten a straightener cause you will always have to keep getting one to maintain it or you will just have to be really patient and grow it all out. Plus chemical straighteners cause damamge to hair too. You have the best of both worlds..don't mess it up. but it's all in what you want.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

well i would get it straightened because if you want to crink it you can and it would be out the next day and you could do the same with curling . but you should do what you want and what you like its your hair .

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

Keep the long shiny smooth curls.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

hun- leave you hair natural! Buy a straightner so that when you want it straight you can straighten it. If you want it more curly then you can put moose in it and scrunch it...If you leave it natural you will have the best of both worlds. You could always get a little bit of layers around you face to give you more definition. If are you are leaning forwards getting a 'permanent' wave, you could always try a semi-permanent one from a drug store that will wash out.

Regaurding what guys like- don't change your hair to attract boys, the right one will like you for who are are! and boys knows what boys like best, everyone has a PERSONAL opinion...

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

Straight hair looks good on an oval face. Wavy on round, and curly on a heart shaped face. Alot of guys like that on girls. I got my hair straightened and I get compiments on my hair daily. Guys also really like to play with long straight hair.

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

I would just flat iron your hair instead of putting a permanent to straighten your hair. This way when you want your hair strait you straighten it and when you don't you can leave it the way it is. This way you wont damage it so much if you flat iron it. I have noticed one thing is that girls with curly hair want straight hair and girls with straight hair want it curly. BTW i think guys like curls, waves and straight hair i don't think it matters. Good luck in your decision!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

If you can try something out temporarily and THEN make your decision. If you have natural curls, you're probably not too keen, but they're back in this season (apparently!) so don't make any rash decisions. If you have GHD hair straighteners (about 鎷?00) then they will straighten your hair, but you can always go back to your waves and curls. Layers are always good! As for guys, their taste is never as good as a woman's (unless they're gay!) If YOU like your hair, then the guy usually does too (unless they're gay!) Only kiddin'!! You sound like you have great hair anyway so whatever you do, just take care of it! Hope you make the choice that suits YOU!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

i know you will probably not pick me but:i personally like strait hair.and i am a guy!!

Wavy, Curly, or Straight hair??please answer this!?

i personally think that a layered cut would work fine depending on how long your hair is now. u dont want to take off too much because u will end up with an afro. also it is good to maybe learn how to change it up from day to day. go straight one day with a slight curl at the tips. this is very trendy. layered is great because u can do many things with it. u could go waves but u will end up with curls again if its your natural hair look. i would go to a salon and ask them what would suit your hair best. make sure u go some where well known and even expensive. they can help u find the right look.

Is there a way to get lasting straight hair?

I have medium sized curls and they are so hard to deal with. I use a flat iron alot and I love my hair straight but the thing is, it takes hours to straighten it. I don't mind the time and effort, but with a drop of water or just a little humidity my hair turns back into a frizzy curly poodle-like mass again. Anyone know a way to get my hair straight and make it stay that way?

Is there a way to get lasting straight hair?

It is possible to get your hair permanently straightened and this lasts for about 6 months, until the hair grows out. Make sure if you choose the right process from what I gather there are two types one of which has been around for quite a while and is not very effective. You will want the Japanese treatment (Yuko System) option which is the newest and most effective treatment. It uses heat to actually change the structure of your hairs changing them from curly, wiry hairs to straight hairs. The only setbacks are it is quite pricy (unlike the older method)and that the results are not very effective on afro caribbean hair. Best of luck

Is there a way to get lasting straight hair?

you could get your hair permanently straightened. its like a perm but it turns your hair straight not curly. One of my friends did it

Is there a way to get lasting straight hair?

Try a blowout - it will keep your hair silky smooth and straight all day! (check the bottom link out for a how-to)

Or you can try chemically straightening your hair, if you want semi-permemant results.

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

I am a boy and have fine hair just past the ears. I kind of want that skater/wavy look to it. Some kids I have seen used to have straight hair and all of a sudden it is wavy. I have read stuff about towel dry, mousse, and blow dry but none of it works. Just lookin for some suggestions. thanks!

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

i said no

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

get a perm for fine straight hair, rod it with medium rods to give it some body if done right you will be pleased. go to a salon and let professional do it . you, will not be sorry you did and yes guys, get perms too.good luck

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

try using some type of gel???

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

Get it wet.

Braid it in smallish braids.

Leave it in overnight.

Take the stretchies out.

It'll be wavy!

(-;

How do you make straight fine hair wavy?

Go to a reputable salon and get a consultation from a stylist. They may have some hair products that will add a little bit of wave to your hair so that you wont have to go to the extreme of getting a perm or body wave perm. I just think its best to always talk to a professional first....and please dont get a do it yourself at home kit and perm your hair. I will guarantee it will be a disaster as most home perms end up damaging your hair. Trust me on this. Good Luck!

If there is supposedly some idealism behind all hair types then why is straight hair always embraced

like skin color, society seems to suggest that all hair types should be embraced. Yet whenever we see people in tv shows, commercials, e.t.c., even people who have naturally coarse, brown, black, and/or curly hair a majority of the time they have had their hair straightened, dyed, extended, and who knows what else. Take Tyra Banks, for instance. Not only does she wear extensions, but her naturally coarse brown hair is almost always made to look long and straight, and dyed various colors. Ashley Tisdale who costars in the popular film High School Musical has naturally brown curly hair, which she admits to having straightened and dyed blonde because that is what the producers wanted. Even the African American barbie dolls are almost always affixed with straight hair, as if this were to be the standard for the young girls who idolize them. And don't even get me started with those pantene commercials. Lamest crap I have ever seen.

If there is supposedly some idealism behind all hair types then why is straight hair always embraced above al?

It's not just straight long hair, but long hair in general is considered more attractive, on average. When was the last time a leading lady had a short do besides Halle Berry and now even she's grown her hair long.

As for coarse hair vs straight hair, that's just the way it is. People always say they are totally fine with their nappy hair that takes aeons to wash, blow dry, press and curl, but deep down, I think they'd prefer more manageable hair. That's why they press it, or perm it.

Personally, I'd rather have hair I can run my hands through than hair that breaks a comb! Doesn't mean I don't like being black.

If there is supposedly some idealism behind all hair types then why is straight hair always embraced above al?

Because straighter hair is more "white" and in this society only white is beautiful. That's why even some white people don't escape the stereotype, so instead they dye it blond to look more "white" because if your blond in this society your automatically beautiful. If you don't beleive me try this out.

In this society hoenstly who is gonna get more dates? People have it hardwired into their system that blond is the most beautiful, white is the most beautiful and black is just not. It was hardwired a long time ago dating when slavery began. As soon as they see the hair colour(blond) they automatically assume beautiful. When they see the hair colour as brown they think ok still white..beautiful. When they see black/brown (even though I'm black but have brown hair/eyes/skin) they think...where's the blond?

How can I keep curl in my straight, long hair?

I have long (2 inches past shoulders), thin, straight hair. I've had this hair for 29 years and know it doesn't curl well in humid areas. I've lived in many humid places and it would frequently come out a few hours after curling. I use hot rollers to good success. I wash, dry, then use Redken Spray Starch before I put rollers in, then I spray the whole head with hair spray when rollers are in. I leave them in until they cool (about 10-20 minutes), then spray again with hair spray when I take it out. Problem is...I just moved to CO (which is way LESS humid than any of the other areas I lived in) and it won't curl! I do all the same things I used to do and as soon as I take the curlers out the curl slides out. I use different types of rollers and get the same reaction with all. So now, by the time I get to work I just have hair with a bunch of product in it and no curl (gross). Anyone know what it is? Help!!!

How can I keep curl in my straight, long hair?

i have the same problem. for me what works is mousse, then roll, fix it and a good hard to hold hair spray. the mousse will dry in your hair, if you spray again and then take it down when it is wet and try to fix it you will just undo what you did. it needs to be dry before you style. then spray like crazy. hope this helps

How can I keep curl in my straight, long hair?

your hair is probably way to heavy to hold the curl in..I'd suggest getting some layers cut into your hair..this is probably the best way to achieve the style you want..but if you aren't willing to get your hair cut...try taking smaller sections of hair..so it will not be weighed down..

you can also try a wet roller set, with some product and let it dry over night

good luck :)

How can I keep curl in my straight, long hair?

just put in some hardcore hairspray and try to roll em up, other than that you just want to get a perm on a semi regular basis

How to make straight hair wavy without a perm?

i have straight hair and whats the best way to make soft waves for a day?

How to make straight hair wavy without a perm?

You can crimp it then brush it out so its wavy and fly away. Or you can us Curly Shampoo and conditioner with a leave in conditioner to make it softly rippled.

Good Luck!

How to make straight hair wavy without a perm?

Curlers or a curling iron, use hairspray. Or put your hair in French braids after you get out of the shower, sleep on it and take them out in the morning.

How to make straight hair wavy without a perm?

curling irons work great.

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

about 5 years ago, I had really full, straight, medium length hair. I've decided to cut it short one day and it became wavy! I started using a flat iron 3 years ago, and used it since....I tried growing my hair long to see if it'll be straight again, but it didn't. Is there a way for my hair to be naturally straight again? I'm tired of using a flat iron....

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

Hair changes, just like your skin. When I hit puberty my hair when from straight to curly! And with each time I've been pregnant my hair has changed: it's become thicker, less curly, etc.

Talk to your hair stylist about find a cut that more suitable to your new waves, as well as more healthy than flat-ironing. Also, I recently read that wavy/curly hair is back in style - so perhaps you will feel more comfortable with your natural look when you see more people trying to achieve it artifically!

Good Luck!

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

Your hair changes as you grow older.

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

Your body changes about every 7 years...hopefully it will go straight again...

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

Your hair and you sculp's skin changed. That's kinda happened to me too.

I found that my hairs got wavier and my sculp got oilier. I changed hair product. It heped a little.

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

My hair used to be stick straight. I cut it and it became thick and wavy. Ive been stuck with that hair since I was about 10 Im 17 now and for the past 3 Ive been flat ironing my hair.

A few months ago I decided to sleep in instead of waking up an hour and a half earlier to flat iron my hair. That day at school I got so many compliments on how great my hair looked that Ive stopped flat ironing.

Waves are in right now. Everyone wants wavy hair. But anyway you could get it relaxed.

I had really straight hair, but now it's all wavy!?

omg the same thing happened to me! when i was youdner i used to have strait hair and as i got older it became wavy. i dont kno if you can make it permanately straight but you could get a perm and thatll make it straight for a while until you grow it out. also, if you're using a flat iron, i recommend you use the *chi* iron (thats the name of it) it works really well and starighten my hair in like 20 minutes =]

How can i make my hair stick straight in the back?????????

I have overall straight hair, except for the back when it gets about neck length...it tends to curl up on the very ends but i don't know if it is curls or if it is damaged...my hair is thick, yet fine...I got my hair layered about a month ago...my father had stick straight hair; he could grow it forever if he wanted...my mother had curly hair (just for your information)...Anyway i would appreciate any advise...(I wash my hair with hot water...is this bad? I also have a habit of twisting my hair in the back...could this be damaging my hair? Advise GREATLY appreciated).

How can i make my hair stick straight in the back?????????

well, it sounds like the twisting of the hair is what's causing the curls, but it could be otherwise. you can wash your hair with hot water, but rinse it at the end with cold water- it seals the cuticle and keeps the moisture in your hair, decreasing damage from dryness. if you think that the curly hair is the result of damage or thinness, try not to use any heat appliances on it or too much product. once a week, apply a deep conditioning treatment to heal breakage, and rinse out. also, try to only wash your hair every other day, so that the natural oils can help the damage. if all else fails, use a flat iron to straighten that part of your hair. it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

the dent is probably from having your hair up in a ponytail or other updo for too long. try wearing your hair down more. also, a too-tight ponytail could be the source of hair breakage.

Stick straight hair....?

whats a great product that will keep my hair straight all day? i have a flattening iron, but the effects of stick straight hair only stay for like 30 minutes. what can i use? how much is it and where can i get it?

Stick straight hair....?

CHI flat iron. It works the best. But, you can get it at target for 150. I no alot right, but it's sooo worht it.

Stick straight hair....?

make sure you iron DRY hair. not even the slightest bit damp.

use a HOT iron. drugstore flatirons are not hot enough for most people.

use a flat iron cream to protect your hair from the heat.

t-3 or chi are best

Stick straight hair....?

Try a heat protectant spray with style memory. I use matrix sleek look iron smoother spray. If I use this on completely dry hair then straighten with a hot iron, my hair stays pretty straight. Afterwards, apply a serum (like biosilk silk therapy) to help shield your hair from humidity.

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

Well! Im going as a 80s chick for halloween and the problem is i have really really straight hair, so any advice on how to go big and poofy without using heat??

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

wash it with beer...@ least that's what i've heard ppl say to do(even my mom). u could also put alot of holding spray and tease ur hair and/or comb it with an afro pick or wide toothed comb, flipped upside down. Then spray it agai when u lift ur head up. hope that works for u cuz i don't really know what kind of hair u have

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

hairspray, hairspray, hairspray!

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

Tease the hell out of it! Seriously, start close to the root, by taking a comb and hold up a hand ful of hair and just comb down towards your head. Then Spray it.

Good Luck

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

hairspray and a lot of TEASING. Teasing the hair is what helps give it volume. Use Curlers as well to give it more volume.

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

The best way to make straight hair "poofy" is to curl it while damp with large curlers (the hard plastic ones you can get at the Dollar Store) hairspray the curls and let that dry. Once that dries, take out the curlers and pull the hair at the ends and brush lightly to the base of your scalp with a big brush. Make sure you have conditioner in your hair else your hair will tease instead of "poof" and it would be really hard to brush out teased hair.

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

It's called "backcombing". Google how-to's on how to do it. It's real easy and all you need is HAIRSPRAY and any comb. You should also google 80's pictures to find hairstyles of the time.

How to make straight hair poofy for halloween?

Tease your hair!

Take a section of your hair and using a comb, comb backwards (towards your roots). Do this all around your head and hairspray your whole head.

To add more volume, bend over and let your hair hang. Then hairspray your whole head.

Good luck!

Styles For Thick, Long, Straight Hair?

My Hair Is Really Long, Straight, And Extremely Thick. I Can't Put My Hair Properly Up Without It Falling Out Soon After. My Hair Bothers Me. Styles For Thick, Long, Straight Hair?

You have got beautiiful hair! i envy you lol i have thin hair you see.... any style would work for you

try this:

Take your grown-out bangs from only one side of your head. Cut them short, downward, and at an angle. They'll now make short bangs over half of your forehead. Very stylish. Brush them so they'll flip nicely.

Take the rest of your hair and pull it back, as if to do a pony tail. Put a small black hair tie in it, then wrap your hair around the tie, and secure with a clip (you know the kind, the ones that look like pointed teeth)

There will be ends of hair sticking out from the toothed clip. Arange these around so you won't see the clip anymore, just the ends sticking out all around.

It looks great, and I hope it works for you!

Styles For Thick, Long, Straight Hair?

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....

hope i helped!!! good luck!!!

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be st

My hair is long(down to my butt lol). If i got a perm would it ruin my hair forever, or be frizzy.? My hair is naturally straight and sort of thin and i cant really do anythin with it but im afraid if i got a perm it would ruin my hair and it would never be normal again? Please help me before i end up making a bad mistake...thank u =]

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

a perm is supposed to last for only a short time but seriously-I can take years and years for it to go back or it may never be the same again. It could also make it frizzy. If your hair is thin you may need to get some on the length cut off and get some long layers cut.

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

My advice: Don't get the perm. My friend got one when she was younger and she still has really dry frizzy hair.

Try using a curling product instead.

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

Eventually, as your hair grows, the perm will grow out. The good thing is, if you decide to go straight sometimes, you can use a flat iron. Play with the many styles. Have fun!

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

DON'T DO A PERM. Personally i think they look awful and they do cause a lot of stress and damage to your hair, plus since your hair is so long i don't think that curls would look good anyway because there would be so much weight due to your length.

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

I once permed my hair when it was long%26amp;very straight. it was'nt frizzy if i applied John' Freimans hair serum on each morning after i shampooed while hair was wet. the curl worn off the more i washed my hair. after 5 weeks i applied a straightner to my hair to go back. this made my hair very dry. so it's up to you . the best perm would be a sprial for long hair. Good Luck....

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

DO NOT GET A PERM!!!!!!!i never got a perm but my friend did and trust me it does not look pretty it would have to take her like a year before it got normal and her hair fell out too and those chemical things are not good gor your hair too so i would say dont it will ruin your beautiful hair trust me... :D good luck

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

A Perm Lasts About A Year. I Do Agree With Nicole, It's Not A Great Idea To Get A Perm. No It Will Not Last Forever, But When You Get Older, Your Hair Will Start To Fall Out %26amp; Will Probably Get Dry And Frizzy If You Dont Use Hairspray. Perms BURN LIKE PEPPER. How Does A Perm Feel? Might As Well Light Your Head On Fire, Because Thats How Much It Hurts, And You Have To Be Above The Age Of 13 I Think. I Wanted My Hair Permed Until I Found Out How Much It Hurt And How Old I Had To Be To Get It Done. Tell You The Truth, I Think You'd Be Better Of Looking Up Hairstyles, And Cuts. Get An Angle Cut With Highlights. Trust Me, It Hurts ALOT LESS, And It Will Look Alot Better. When You Perm Your Hair, It Damages It Really Badly... So That's Your Choice. Good Luck, And I Know I Sound Like A Freak Who Knows Everything =]] XDD Well GLL

%26amp; I Hope U Know Watcha Doing!

I have long straight hair. I was goin to get a perm,If i do will it ever go back to normal and be straight?

hey im a hairdresser, a perm would be great for ur hair if u wanted curls... it would make ur hair slighty dryer but it would not ruin it... perms tend to last about 6 months or so depending on the perm and the state of ur natural hair... if u have no colour in ur hair the perm will turn out beautiful... also be careful when u get it done as to what size rod the hairdresser uses. u can also get body waves which give ur hair body and wave instead of tight curls :P good luck :)

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

Hear me out...

My friend Tom claims that curly hair is as a result of higher levels of testosterone naturally occurring in the body and that as such those with curly hair think about sex more (on average) than those with straight hair. I have curly hair and would definitely back this up. However a statistic based on just me isn't rigorous scientific proof for most people...

Biologically/scientifically, could this theory be sustained? Are there any studies to uphold it? [If you are a scientist working on this premise, might I be able to join you?]

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

... ruh-roh...

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

hmmm im not sure but that sounds interesting!

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

Why don't you go out into the street with a clipboard and ask them?

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

This has no direct effect on the outcome.

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

does it really matter?!?!?

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

Yep I back this up too! I have curly hair and a high sex drive and think about sex more than others I reckon lol apparently if you have curly hair it means you have been born without the chemical in your body for straight hair, didn't know about the link with sex! interesting :D

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

iv curly hair n its all i think bout

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

This is a ridiculous theory. There's a few theories for what causes curly hair (mostly having to do with the shape of the hair follicle or properties of the bonds between keratin proteins in the hair itself), but higher levels of testosterone has nothing to do with it. Else men would have more curly hair than women, no? Also, I have straight hair, and I have a hard time imagining anyone thinks about sex more than I do. Anecdotal evidence means nothing.

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

Curly hair is not caused by elevated testosterone. Testosterone causes facial and body hair to be more curly, but it causes the follicles on the head to thin out and die off: elevated testosterone makes you bald.

The curliness and texture of hair is dicatated by the shape of the follicle, and by different versions of the keratin proteins that form hair.

Do people with curly hair think about sex more than those with straight hair?

I have curly hair. Great isn't it.

Big curls and straight hair?

hey. i'm 16 and homecoming is coming. this is my last year at my high school before i move to michigan and i want to go all out. someone suggested big curls like the curls vanessa hudgens has in the song gotta go my own way. my hair is shoulder length and straight. how would you recommend curling it?

Big curls and straight hair?

Check out this girls website. She has video tutorials that are really easy to understand with lots of ideas for girls with straight hair. She has make up tips on her site too.

Big curls and straight hair?

go to a salon to get it curled. you should get long wavy curls....not tight curls because it'll make your hair look shorter.

Big curls and straight hair?

SUPER STRAIGHT

Big curls and straight hair?

I wouldnt It would shrink and look up to your ears.

Big curls and straight hair?

I'm 16 too and I would definitely recommend going to a salon to get your hair done -- you can discuss what would look best with your face shape or your dress with a stylist. If you hair is shoulder-length, I would suggest big curls, but not wound up really tight, because it will make your hair look even shorter than shoulder length! I would go for the Gisele Bundchen type curls, but again, it depends on what looks best with your face shape and dress.

Big curls and straight hair?

well i am a hair stylist and i can tell you if you want big curls you should go with Christine Aguilar because you both have shoulder length hair i think that will make the boy which they had you and make sure you were big hoops or earrings that show at the bottom of your hair i just gave you the hookup.

Big curls and straight hair?

This can be lots of fun!!! My daughter is a hairdresser....does stage shows....sells a product line....Did the Oscars (awards)... does models for magazines, LOTS of extensions, many many weddings of which she has been flown to Hawaii for, etc....

Here is my thought.................go wavy!! But, even more fun, get the extensions put in for the special, fun day!! You will be the eye opener of the evening!! You just have to find someone good who knows how to put them in correctly.... that's important. Most salons will have someone who knows the art. Since my daughter is a hair designer of 11 years now, I've seen MUCH of her professional and outstanding work..........extensions can be beautiful and fun. She recently married this past June/07. She herself had long extensions put in for her rehearsal and dinner. On the wedding day, they were worked up on top of her head for a great look!! Have fun, and I hope a great plan comes about for you!

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

I have straight hair, and it is also really thick. That's the problem. Since it is so thick, it goes every which way is is more wavy than straight. I want to leave my hair down for more often, but it looks too ugly sometimes!

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

You should buy a flat iron. It helps keep your hair straight and gives a more sleek look.

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

use hair serum or light hold spray to keep it in place

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

I love the straight and thick hair. You are very lucky, but you need to work on your strength. Go get a V- shape long layered. That way, your hair will be thin out, but still have style no matter how you leave it (tie up or put down). And even if your hair still goes with whatever direction with a layered cut, it is still in style.

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

i have straight natural hair too...u should cut ur hair layerd and not straight,go to the hair saloon and cut a bit, hairstylist are expert bout dat...u should also use shampoo dat especially for straight hair, then use the conditioner...thick hair does not matter, most important healthy hair...thick hair do look gorgeous for me...

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

use a smoothing shampoo. it will really calm your hair down and leave it relaxed.

any shampoo that says "straight" in it will work.

matrix sleek.look is fantastic and it doesn't weight your hair down.

How do I keep my natural straight hair?

you cant

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

My hair is completely straight natuarlly. When i go to the hairdressers and get it curled or curl it myself with a curling iron it doesnt stay in very long before it just turns right back into almost perfectly straight hair all on it's own. When i get out of thet shower and sortove twist my hair up and tie it up weith hair elastics, and sleep with it like that, then in the morning it turns out nice, but it isn't curly like i want it. Does anyone know anyway i can get my straight hair to have small ringlettes in it, just by doing it myself at my house?

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

1.) Wash your hair with curl-enhancing shampoo and conditioner.

2.) Make sure your hair is completely dry.

3.) Use a curling iron (get one with a small diameter if you want small, tight curls; larger diameter (1.5 inch is good) if you want big, soft curls) on your hair - take a small bit of your hair and wind it around the iron (full strength/heat). Hold it to the count of 15. Do this until you're done with good-sized bit of your hair and use a maximum strength hairspray to keep the curls in.

My hair is very resistant to curling and this works for me, so I hope it works for you, too! =)

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

get a perm

and trust me u don't want curly hair

i wish i had straight hair naturally i always straight mines

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

Well, im not sure about doing it @ home, but you could try going to a hairsalon and getting it permed!

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

your soooo lucky to have straight hair

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

u should get a perm that lasts for at least 6 months.

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

I don't really agree with getting a perm. Then you will never get to experience variety with your hair. If you hair doesn't work with a curling iron, I recommend curling like 3 curls and spraying it with hair spray. Then do another 3 curls, and so on. If that doesn't work, try using rollers. They twist you hair, and you can just leave then in while you get ready. Then right before you leave, just gently unroll them, and you have gorgeous curls. Then I would recommend hair spray. Or you could use Curlysexyhair Shampoo and conditioner, and curl boosting products. Hope that helped!

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

You can go to some beauty parlour and they will take of your hair problem Yours VRVRAO

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

This is next to impossible.

Depending on what process is used, you will have slightly batter results but they will become straight again soon.

Learn to live with it, some people do spend few hours every day to keep the hair the way they like.

How can you curl completely straight hair..?

use those ringlets things, and then apply heat w a hair dryer...this method is less harmful to the hair than the curling iron one.

however the curling iron one works the best, so curl your hair using that and put hairspray in yur hair so the humid weater does not weigh them down. also try curling creames or leave in conditioner.

try garnier fructis, they work really well.

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

I have thin straight hair, and I'm getting it cut soon. Anyone have any cool ideas or sources with pictures of hairstyles? Thanks

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

You should layer it. It gives the illusion that you have a fuller head of hair.

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

i would say something that pulls your hair into a flip...maybe like judge hatchetts???

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

I HAVE THIN STRAIGHT HAIR I JUST GOT A PERM IF YOU HAVE LONGER HAIR YOU CAN GET A SPIRAL

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

Hi...As a former hairdresser and someone who has thin straight hair: A cut that is angled upward from chin length to nape of neck works well. For the summer I get it cut right at the hairline in the back. It is also slightly layered and the ends fringed to prevent layers from making those ugly lines. Side or middle part and on side sometimes behind my ear.

Ask people out of the street where they got their hair cut if you like a certain style! :)

Hairstyles for thin straight hair?

Well, if you don't mind having it cut short, a cute pixie layered look will definately give your hair more volume. Try Reba McEntire recent hairstyle if you want a longer length. Hope you find one you like.

I have naturally straight hair, i want to make it look wavy?

I have fine hair, which for sme reason curls VERY easily, which is very odd. my hiar when i sleep on it goes wavy but it looks kinda weird becuase it like straight on the top then like curly at the tips. but when i leave it to dry it goes pretty straight and once i brush it its like straight with a little wave underneath. My hair is like 2 inches from the middle of my boobs, and i have dyed. how can i get natural looking waves. (i dont want a perm.)

thanks. ps. i also have alot of hair, its just fine.

I have naturally straight hair, i want to make it look wavy?

Since you say your hair curls naturally, maybe you should use curl defining products, like Sunsilk Frizz Ease 24/7 creme (green bottle) or mousse (I personally use Tresseme Curl Care). If you use mousse, you could scrunch your hair %26amp; that might bring out some curl too.

Good luck %26amp; hope this helps! (:

I have naturally straight hair, i want to make it look wavy?

You can always try showering the night before, rubbing some pomade or non-alcohol gel in your hair, then braid them. When you wake up in the morning, take the braids out and finger-comb your hair. If it is still wet, try getting a diffuser attachment for your blow dryer (about $5, $6) and place the excess hair into its bowl shape, leaving it for several minutes. This will also give you a wave to your hair, will out making it frizzy, or too curly.

I have naturally straight hair, i want to make it look wavy?

Once you get out of the shower, put curling mousse or gel into your hair and then put in up in a messy bun. Either let it air dry or use a blow dryer, then let your hair down and scrunch it using a curl finishing product. This works for me, and I have hair that sounds exactly like yours. Hope this works for you! (Your hair should be wavy, not in big curls, just fyi)

I have naturally straight hair, i want to make it look wavy?

sleep in like 4 or 5 french braids... when you wake up, take em' out add a little bit of gel %26amp; hair spray and your good to go!

How to get my hair straighter than straight!!?

try pantene shampoo and conditioner, air dry ur hair, and if u want, u can use a straightener which wuld b best

How to get my hair straighter than straight!!?

u have to get those expensive hair straighteners bc conair KILLS AND DAMAGES YOUR HAIR and it doesn't even work. so i suggest a new straightener or platinum straightening. that keeps it straight for 30 days or so.

hope that helps!!!

How to get my hair straighter than straight!!?

You need to go and get a nice professional ceramic hair straightener at possibly a beaty supply store.

How to get my hair straighter than straight!!?

if you go to a salon they can permanently straighten it for 6 months, it might be pretty pricey though so ya...maybe you can ask if they can straighten it and have it straight FOREVER?...

p.s. that hair cut is so cute!

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

my hair is wavy and short well not short about the length of my index finger. i usually wear a beanie before i go to bed and i wake up with straight hair a bit wavy but it's ok. i thought i'll get it blow dried straight at a salon, how long does it last ? i wash my hair every other day.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

once you wash your hair the straightness of it goes away

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

it will last as long as u dont get ur hair wet

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

It lasts until you wash it, in most cases, unless you live in a very humid area. Try putting some straightening products in.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

its only gonna last until you next wash it?

and it does sound short.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

are u talking about getting a perm? if it is a perm it will probably be about 3-4 hours

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

a blow dry lasts until you wash your hair again, unless you get rained on! you could buy some hair straighteners? i have short hair too and they work great on me

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

fr abt 3 days. After that ur hairs gonna get greasy..so u hav to wash it anyways.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

if you just blow dry your hair straight it will only last until the next time you wash your hair. then you will have to either let it be wavy, or blow dry it straight again.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

for me it lasts about 2-3 days but my hair is pretty longish...like to my chest

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

it will last until wet... unless u live somewhere where u cant friggin stay away from humidity.... lol... i hate it... i have thick naturally curly hair and i try to straighten it as much as possible but when i dont it looks like crap... i havent found anything to work b/c of the humidity. any help for me?

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

Getting hair blow-dried straight at a salon is good, because it will make the hair stay staight longer. It will last until your next shampoo. I also reccommend getting it straightened while you are there. That'll make it extra-straight.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

A blowdry will last only until you wash your hair again. You really need a straightener. You can get one in the hair section of almost any store. Then you can just wake up in the morning and run the straightener through it real quick.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

Blow drying straight is ok but you need products. Find straightning gels, sprays, etc. The best thing is the straight iron. That will usually last until you wash it. You can use the straight iron on wavy hair.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

sorry im not really sure what youre saying about the salon :P but what you could do if you really dont like your wavy hair is you could get the japanese hair straightening ?

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

it will last until you get your hair wet

try some hair straightening products or get in permanetly straightened at the salon

or buy a blwdrier yourself, if you hair is that short it should take five minutes to blow it straight and dry everyday

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

why don't you buy a hair straightener. Works like a charm =D

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

It will last at least until the next time you wash your hair, but you might have to touch it up a little. If you really want straight hair, though, invest in a good straightener. I really love chi's, but they have a not-so-pretty price. Conair makes some cheaper models that work not as well but get the job done.

Blowdrying my hair straight ?

If you go to the salon, it usually lasts about 2-3 weeks tops....

If you are african american you shouldn't wash your hair this often. You could be depriving your hair of the nutrients our hair needs. Washing your hair this often could make your hair: dry, brittle, and doing this can make your hair at more risk of getting split ends which can cause your hair to break off and it probably won't grow properly.

What's up with straight hair?

ok so everyone asks questions how to get their hair straight. even i want mine straight!! isn't funny how when we were all younger having straight hair was like our last worry. but now i feel like i gotta straighten my hair everyday or people look at you thinking your hair is wavy and ugly looking.

What's up with straight hair?

I've only straightened my hair twice in my life. I like my curly hair, and no one can tell me that my hair is ugly just because it isn't what everyone else has. I don't need to dress and look like everyone else to feel hot or good looking.

What's up with straight hair?

friizzy hair is very annoying

What's up with straight hair?

ghds are quick at straightening, but you don't need it straight, if your hair is wavy and you have a side bang or any fringe, just straighten that it'd look hott as.

or it would look even better if you have curly hair and you straighten your fringe.

Or just simply make a 'poof' by putting it back with a bobby pin or 5.

Even putting it to the side is good.

What's up with straight hair?

I don't know =S. I have straight hair i think it's amazlingly boring

What's up with straight hair?

yeah

it is shocking how people look so

much better with straightened hair

i got mine permenantly straightened for $14 in vietnam

it's awesome

stepping out of the shower with straightened hair

not having to go thought the hassle

of straightening my hair every morning

:)

ah yes

i miss those days

where i didn't have to worry about my hair and my clothes

What's up with straight hair?

I suggest GHD's and heat protectant sprays, it protects your hair from over drying when dealing with heat. What looks hot and simple nowdays is straight hair then teasing your hair (pulling your hiar up and using your comb to brush up and down in strands) Its a classy messy look, then smooth over it and pin or a 'poof' effect. It may sound weird but try it and you'll see.

What's up with straight hair?

Ouch. My hair is curly and I like it that way. I have noticed my friends being that way though. I just like my hair better curly, It takes 2 hours to straighten and gets frizzy anyway.

What's up with straight hair?

Heres what I have to do;

Blow dry it out with a round brush

Then straighten it.

It can be a hassel to do in the morning, especially since I have such thick hair, but its worth it.

Also, I recommend a CHI hair straightener. Theyre pricey, but well worth it!

What's up with straight hair?

just get a straitner or just get a hot hot blow dreir and brush at the same time

What's up with straight hair?

heyy bre :]]] [ we're so cool ]

Anyways, straight hair. Some people are born w/ straight hair [like me], but sometimes I wish my hair was wavy. Anyways, try buying the Chi Straighener, it's around $100, but it's good for your hair, and won't do permanent damage to your hair.

Or, you could get a straight perm. However, I only suggest it, if you have thick hair. That way, since a perm is semi-bad, and you have thick hair, it won't be as bad as thin hair and a perm.

These might helpp:

How to curl naturally straight hair?

Without using curling iron or rollers!

I'm Chinese and I have naturally pin-straight hair! But sometimes, I just want to change my hairstyle around. I'm 17, 5'5-5'6 and weigh 115lbs! So how can I make my hair curly (all sizes would work) that would look nice?

How to curl naturally straight hair?

You could use thermasilk moose and scrunch it up a bit but it seems to me you don't want to use hair products so what I always do is, wet it and then braid it into three or four braids and then sleep on it. In the morning it will be really crimped and if you brush it out it will become curly. Give that a try.

How to curl naturally straight hair?

hey my hair is like urs to.......i can crul my hair easily i get my hair wet and take moose like have it on ur hands and like u scrunch it up with ur fingers and stuff it usally turns out rly pretty

How to curl naturally straight hair?

How do you expect your hair to get naturally curly without the use of curling irons or rollers?

How to curl naturally straight hair?

you can't curl your hair if you don't use a curling iron or rollers.

but maybe you can get a perm.that way it will be curly for like 3 months.and if you don't want it curly one day then you can just straighten it.just get a perm:)

How to curl naturally straight hair?

very easy nake an appointment get a big rolloar body perm, where it curlier with hair products and a diffusior or simmple staiten it out with a round brush and blow dryer%26lt; u can have both looks%26gt;John

How to curl naturally straight hair?

Wet your hair and apply a curling moose or gel and scrunch. Add hairspray.

Or when you have wet hair apply a curling moose or gel and braid your hair blow-dry it or sleep on it and hopefully it will work.

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

Hi, I am Japanese and have straight hair, i was thinking of dying it but i have to bleach it first. I have heard that bleaching straight hair makes it curly, but would it wreck my straight hair?

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

Bleaching typically at least dries out the hair, and can even cause a lot of damage to the hair strands. That, in and of itself, can cause your straight hair to look like straw and just unattractive. Please do consult with a haircolorist, and do Not bleach your hair yourself. To go from brunette to blonde, the hair needs to be first stripped of its color. I think that this is a site about haircolor and to perhaps find a certified colorist in your locale: www.haircolorist.com The site does have a message board of other consumers such as yourself though please do personally check with a haircolorist in person.

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

I am half Vietnamese and my hair is super straight. I bleached my hair platinum blonde many times and it didn't turn curly. Your hair will lose it's luster and it will be hard to dye it back dark. But I loved my blonde hair, but it is hard to maintain. My roots grow out fast! I did the dying myself, but if you are a first timer I would go to a pro for sure. Good luck!!

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

of course

but if u do treatment everyday... it will b ok n not so serious prob...

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

It will probbaly make your hair a bit dry, but I don't think it wil make your straight hair curly...

Would Bleaching My Straight Hair Wreck It?

It won't curl, but it WILL be more prone to frizz. You are essentially stripping the hair's outer layer off, the part that looks smooth and pretty. Good luck! : )

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

got any other tips like how to scrunch it?

and good products

my hair is stick straight and sometimes i want curly hair without all the damage curling irons cause

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

i have the same hair, really super straight. sometimes i want to get that messy/wavy look and like you i want healthy hair, no straightening or curling irons. so what i do is after i get out of the shower, i put garnier fructis product, like their styling gel or volumizing gel, into it and i use my fingers to scrunch and wave it around, then don't comb or brush it, let it dry that way. it should have little waves, it looks really cool!! also, if you sleep on it wet and put braids in, when you wake up and take them out your hair will be really wavy, its he best way for me. good luck!!

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

count your blessings that your hair is straight....

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

Try taking a shower at night, and tie your hair up into a ponytail, and when you wake up you should have light waves in your hair!!You should do this for about a few weeks!!GOOD LUCK!!

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

maybe this will help

http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind...

or

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

yeah you can totally scrunch it. when you get out of the shower towel dry your hair and when its about 60% dry use a good mousse like the 'aussie' products or herbal essense, or you could use a gel i like L.A. looks that works good. and put some on your hands and scrunch away

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

You can scrunch it but it won't make it curl.

The only way to get curl is either perm or a curling iron.

I know you don't want to hear this but it the truth.

I have been a licensed cosmetologist for over thirty years.

Hope this helps.

Ok so, i have straight hair can i scrunch it?

shower at night

use tons of hairspray

moouse and gel

and scrunch in ur hands

put in messy bun over night

then take out in morning using more hairspray if needed

http://www.brendasongsite.com/images/bs1...

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

Since you probably dont have very damaged hair......Get the Tresseme thermal protection cream and after your done straightening it use Paul Mitchell Gloss drops.

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

a ghd hair straitner will make ur hair really strait and some vo5 hair wax does the trick of getting rid of the fuzz but dont use 2 much on a hot day

i am australian american so i have the frizzy out of controll hair and it works for me Report It

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

Unless you're Asian or Native American, that's not gonna happen. Sorry, but it's a totally different type of hair than Caucasian straight hair is.

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

OMG, the wet to dry straightener, is causing your hair to be dry and frizzy, because it burns your hair!!!! you need to either let it dry out by itself or blowdry it, and get a regular straightener, preferably a chi!!

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

Use leave in conditioner ,A frizz reducer, and a heat protector but you don't have to use them all at the same time because that might make your hair oily take to your hair dresser she or he will tell about some products

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

YOUR HAIR LOOKS FINE,AND YOUR CUTE TOO!

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

use a good straightener.

get some shine spray by tres emme

and some hairspray with a lighter hold

straighten hair in layers

use shine spray before the iron hits the hair

and only doing small areas at once

when yer done with all yer hair

spray it lightly with the hairspray

and there ya go!

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

I have the same straightener and hate it. I'd suggest getting a CHI, even though they are costly (I plan on getting one soon). Using leave in conditioners, Biosilk, or maybe even mousse could help keep the hair from frizzing as much. Patience is sadly required too, as I sometimes spend forever on bad hair days while attempting to straighten.

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

I have very very bad hair. i recommend tourmaline series hair straightener. i got it from sally beauty supply and it was a fair price...$60. and it works GREAT no lie. i mean my hair is really bad and you should trust me on this one. get a spray from walmart or any store to protect your hair from damaging. you can also get a spray for frizz control. make sure you take ur time while straightening your hair...it makes a lot of a difference. good luck i hope u get what you want...

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

brush your hair before you wash it.

use shampoo only at roots and conditioner only on the long part of your hair, not near your scalp.

do not brush your hair after washing it.

straighten it while its still semi-wet.

you can use gel but i recommend paul mitchell super skinny serum.

(you can also blow dry it before straightening it using a cylindrical brush and point the blowdryer going down the hair, not towards the roots/ your head.)

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

don't use the straightener when your hair is wet

that will burn it and make it frizzy and yah not good

it might be your straightener you might want to get a new one if thats the problem

uhm if your hair is just always thick i would get it thinned next time you get it trimmed...just ask

don't blow dry your hair it will make it worse

good luck!

How do i get pin straight hair with out it being frizzy?

when I do my hair straight, i start with wet hair. Rub a leave in conditioner/smoothing cream through the roots to ends. Blow dry on low/medium. The high setting will make you sweat and fuzz out your hair. As you blowdry use a paddle brush in the same direction. I personally would blow dry standing straight up rather than with your head upside down because upside down can make it too poofy. After you dry you can use a little more smoothing cream which makes it easier to straighten. Straighten and then use something like Redken Anti-snap on the ends to make them nice and smooth. Use a little light hold hairspray to finish it off. Hope you can follow all that! =)

How can i get my hair straight WITHOUT a straightener? What hair products exactly?

If I were to only blowdry/style, what hair products/serums/whatevers are the best to get straight hair?

How can i get my hair straight WITHOUT a straightener? What hair products exactly?

i like to use redkin satinwear and straight sexy hair smooth and seal

How can i get my hair straight WITHOUT a straightener? What hair products exactly?

I would have to say none! wash your hair throughouly and blow dry it while combing it with a round brush. It works like a charm! Good Luck!

How can i get my hair straight WITHOUT a straightener? What hair products exactly?

Use Jumbo sized rollers or give you volume with just a little touch of curl at the ends

Straight hair length for cornrows?

How long does a person's hair need to be in order to get cornrows, if the person is white and has straight hair, but their hair is VERY thick?

Straight hair length for cornrows?

to tell the truth... not to b mean but straighter hair is harder to cornrow and will not last long.. but it doesnt really matter wat length your hair is as long as its not too short like above ur shoulders

Straight hair length for cornrows?

Cornrows will most likely not work on your hair texture. Even if your hair is thick the "slippery-ness" of your hair while make the braid loosen and not stay tight.

Unfortunately Straight Hair Problem..?

Hope this helps!!! :)

Unfortunately Straight Hair Problem..?

salon

Unfortunately Straight Hair Problem..?

Sunsilk volumising shampoo. Dont use the conditioner all the time because the curls will fall out. When you get out of the shower apply moose (mostly on the tips) and scrunch the hair (grab little chuncks of hair from underneath and squeeze in your fist up to the roots). Do this all over your head. Sometimes it is easier to tip your head upside down. Keep scrunching untill it is almost dry and then use some hairspray if you wish...x

Unfortunately Straight Hair Problem..?

ah with curls or even just a few you are NOT supposed to brush it. there are a lot of pantene pro v texture products that you can get at cvs, walgreens, or anywhere that you can pick out according to your hair type. but if your hair is actually naturaly straight then stop using that shampoo, or stop brushing you hair after. becasue if you keep using it and brushing your hair then straightening it, your wasting time. and straightening your hair when its not nessesary is bad for your hair! over time that is.

good luck!

Unfortunately Straight Hair Problem..?

well...

I'm sorry about your "malfunctions" but if you go to a Walgreen's or a drug store. you can find l'oreal new studio tightly wound curl boosting spray gel" for curls with out frizz"

and beyond zone "noodle head" "activate your curls" and pantene pro-v style curl lock hair spray.* also if wanted extra curl boost but Aussie sprunch hairspray.

****directions****

take shower or wet hair.

then put hair up in messy bun for 15-20 but don't let it dry!

then take out and brush ONLY in messy spots. make part if needed. spray whole head with "noodle heads mist" then scrunch hair a little to start it. then spray gel on hair or in certain spots needed. put up again if needed and let down. spray curl lock hair spray and scrunch again. spray aussie sprunch for finsihed look.

( seems like alot of steps but its worth it.)

( hey...i do it every morning!)

hope it works**
