I have pin-straight, long (not too long) hair, asian hair.
It seems as if everything i do to it- curl it, scrunch it, whatever you please-
it either doesnt hold or doesnt work to begin with (-_-)*
Curling- doesnt curl. period. The ends either turn in or turn out, but it looks more like as mistake than a "curl". I usually use light mousse and gel in my attempts
Scrunching- Braiding hair works pretty well, but sometimes it isnt the style i'm looking for. When i scrunch my hair with gel, it looks....worse than you can imagine- frizzy, big, and a mess.
Does anyone have any suggestions about working with asian hair? Straight hair styles are appreciated, too!
Thanks!
=)
Pin straight asian hair?
i'm asian as well. but my avatar isn't. anyways i have similar straight hair as you although it's not super straight like the way yours sounds(my ends flip out). anyhow i was really jealous of people that had wavy hair and it never seem to work with my hair. until i saw this video on youtube.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hkGnkX8d...
i tried this and it works! in the video she tells you to do it with like wet hair. well slightly wet. well i found it better to do it after a take a shower and blow dry my hair. then do it because it works better. but if you want to change your hairstyles just youtube it. put youtube search how to hair or something and you will get tons of results. best of luck!!!
Pin straight asian hair?
oh, i think i know something tht might work for you.
im asian, my hairs stick straight..scrunching/curling irons dont do crap.
dampen your hair, but dont make it soaked. spray some curl reviver spray in it and then comb your hair to make sure its completely unknotty. seperate it into 2 seperate sections. twist each section around, and then roll into a bun. keep it like that for about 20 minutes, then take it out and spray with paul mitchel hair spray.
you should have like long ringlet-ish curls.
