Waves in straight hair?

The look I am going for is soft natural looking, loose waves.

for example:

http://www.marieclaire.com/cm/marieclair...

Things I have tried [and they have not succeeded]

-Using a diffuser

-Having hair wet and putting in bun.

- Braiding

- Scrunching

My hair is very straight, and I dont want it too look all gross and

full of product. I want it so it looks natural. I dont want anything permanent, and i have no idea how to use a hair curler. I need as many tips as i can get.

My Hair:

-Straight

-Just below shoulders

-Side swept bangs (eyebrow grasing)

- Fine hair texture

And if you are going to tell me a product, it has to be available

either at walmart, or Shoppers Drug Mart.

Thanks For your help!

Waves in straight hair?

yeah you're prolly gonna want to use a hair curler for this. The thicker around the hair curler is, the looser your curls will come out and if you use a really fat curler it will come out like waves, not curls. divide you hair into sections and curl it section by section one at a time. just search google for how to use a hair curler if you aren't sure. if the waves don't stay in, you can also try spraying your hair lightly with a light hold hairspray. these can be purchased basically anywhere.

The best thing to get is a conditioner type thing called noodle head you can buy from like tesco or Morrison's i think its 4 pound it works it done it on my sisters hair.

With straight hair like that, you NEED product. Your problem became perfectly clear to me when you said you get your product at walmart or shoppers. Thats why it LOOKS like you have product in your hair. You get what you pay for with professional products, thats why it looks so good when a hairdresser does it.

One thing you SHOULD pick up at walmart is some hot rollers. Pop them in for a few minutes and then you will get the look your goin for. Pinning it all up, or scrunching it just helps to enhance natural curl, not give you unf!

Hope this helps.

**Edit: Also, get some huge velcro rollers if you dont want to spend the money on a set of hot rollers. Try the med blue ones for hair the length of yours.
